Prosperity & Abundance: Astrology
For The New Millennium
by Beth Wilson
Grab your celestial ticket now!! We're
about to rocket through to a new millennium in the "wink
of an eye!" With the advent of a new second, minute,
hour, day, month, year, century, we have a chance to grab
the "2001 Brass Ring of Prosperity" on the Celestial
Carousel. The Hermetic axiom "as above, so below"
is being shown daily here on our humble planet. This "virtual
reality" information transformation mirrors the great
interplay of the heavens and earth.
The social Sagittarius sun highlights
our desire for increased exploration and learning. While Saturn
finishes churning through earthy Taurus, it will take discipline
to stay focused, practical and steadfast to our goals during
this inquisitive period. The final vestige of this ringed-planet's
retrograde foray from Gemini back into Taurus has powerful
implications. Saturn is retrograde during December through
January 24. The turning point is characterized by the 25°
Taurus Sabian symbol, which is "a well-kept public park."
The keynote is "recreation." As Dr. Marc Edmund
Jones states in The Sabian Symbols in Astrology, "This
is a symbol of the everyday integrity of society at large,
and of the community divisions of labor through which each
person gains the resources for well-being and self-enjoyment
which obviously he could never create for himself through
his own isolated efforts." Welfare for everyone is shown
through our actions as thought products. This is not a heavy
sentence, but one of joy and abundance -- to play, albeit
mindfully and respectfully, not only with one another, but
also with an increased awareness and opening of senses and
sensibility to the stewardship of this lovely planet!
Jupiter retrograde during December further
double-checks our levels of discernment. Time management may
be a challenge! Update those calendars and address books.
Jupiter goes direct at on January 25. Having the "Big
Guys" of our solar system both retrograde during these
two months has us playing back "old tapes" of doubt.
Turning direct in tandem within a 24-hour period marks a surge
in ability to join forces and initiate changes that before
may have seemed too overwhelming. Having crested the 6 billion
mark in population, we are now faced with increasing opportunity
coupled with complex necessity of managing our lives well
so that we can all prosper. The complexity and dynamics of
personal and group responsibility are highlighted as the dynamic
duo -- jovial Jupiter and sagacious Saturn -- move into Gemini,
fostering new methods and models of communication. This transit
means responsibility and fun! Exploring communication styles
is crucial. Through heart-centered action and respect, we
discover new levels of intimacy and sustainment. As the sun
is the center of our galaxy, the human heart chakra and organ
holographically repeats the theme of a positive, joy-centered
path for human endeavor and fruitfulness.
The millennium shift fuse will be lit
on December 25 in a partial eclipse of the sun, visible in
most of North America. The sun, the moon and Mercury conjunct
at 4/5° Capricorn. This unusual new moon period seeds,
creates and hones durable networking frameworks within family
and community. Count on it being tested too! Outmoded software
on computers and less desirable personality traits can be
examined, deleted and "upgraded" easily. That this
eclipse is on the celebrated birthday of one of the greatest
Masters of our Age is not lost on us either. What an opportune
time to contemplate and practice one of His teachings -- to
love one another!
Individual responsibility is the millennial
focus. The Capricorn sun from December 21 through January
19 promotes societal goals. The 1st day Pisces moon imparts
a gentling, emotionally supportive influence. Auld Lang Syne
may come to mind. Using faith and compassion, we extol some
of the greatest Piscean virtues. The moon moves into Aries
at 5:14pm, helping us to move together unafraid into this
exciting, complex new era. Knowing and being connected are
indeed powerful tools.
Venus, Uranus (through 2003) and Neptune
(through 2012) are in collectively focused Aquarius, heralding
the blossoming of experimentation and innovation of the Information
Age. Women will trailblaze in this century. Informational
transference techniques will be at the forefront, while outmoded,
linear-time-line thinking will be replaced with a re-emergence
of more cyclical ways of marking frequency through new scientific
discoveries of place and time. Just look at the complexity
of the NASDAQ and the restructuring/merging of corporations,
such as Cellular One and ATT. The Aquarian power of thought
plays out in quickened manifestation; the tools of prayer
and meditation can assist us in staying focused on this sacred
spiral. Time seems more "fluid" than ever, while
the advent of "more" is brought to you through an
Aquarian acceleration. Information is generated at a much
higher volume, while keeping "track" of it skyrockets!
Mars moves quickly through Libra in December,
and we juggle equality in relationships. Then feisty Mars
holds court on his own turf in Scorpio at midnight's stroke,
and stays throughout January, creating some uncomfortable
challenges. It will be a wild ride, intensifying everything
we think, say and do. So watch your speed -- at the very least,
your temper! Pluto, our smallest, most intense collaborator,
is still making his sojourn through Sagittarius (until 2008),
where we learn about the power of our own spirituality. Factor
in the asteroid Chiron (the shaman/wounded healer/teacher),
through which we learn how to incorporate our own wholeness
or "holiness." This combo stirs much interplay in
social justice issues, while having us personally plumb spiritual
depths and check our physical health. Through the Jupiter/Saturn
opposition to Pluto/Chiron we have many opportunities to critique
what philosophically sustains and empowers our associations.
Examples of this publicly could be the issue of national health
care, or more personally, does my HMO work for me? Group frameworks
and our involvement in them are scrutinized.
We also will have home-turf security
issues with the full moon eclipse on January 10 at 3:24pm,
in Cancer. Nurturing ourselves may be a bit rough; we explore
"needs" versus "wants." Cooperative participation
is required at this new moon, helping to clear away outdated
habits and offset security/privacy issues. Constantly, increasing
levels of new Aquarian vibrational frequencies in our environs
bombard us. From microwave, wireless phones to satellite,
there is nowhere at "home" unaffected. However,
these frequencies are here to stay, through our need to connect
and "see." Also, we struggle with our personal lives
becoming more public as we interface and in turn are interfaced
online through every economic transaction. Look for a change
in the web, as it continually re-invents itself. Meanwhile,
protect your personal information -- back up or shred.
The January 24 new moon at 8:07am hosts
a conjunction of the sun, the moon, Mercury, Neptune and Uranus
in globally conscious Aquarius trine Gemini Jupiter. This
combo shows the multi-faceted importance of "Us/Us,"
becoming more attuned and aligned with our neighbors. This
lunation during the first week of our new Presidency highlights
the complexity of creating personal prosperity while acknowledging
diversity. Clear communication is key; examining other ways
of perceiving and information processing is helpful. East
meets West? At sunset on the 24, the lunar-based Chinese New
Year of the Snake begins, ending an exciting, tumultuous year.
This Year of the Metal Snake is characterized by intensity,
but of a flavor different than that of its predecessor, the
charismatic, colorful Dragon. The tenor of politics changes
in polarity from bold spontaneity to a more careful, shrewd
resolve. Caution is an ally; reliance on one's inner instincts
"a must." Resurgence of the arts usually takes place
during this year. Fashion and words alike are clearly punctuated!
This is similar to the interplay of Jupiter and Saturn in
Gemini. We are given information through two different viewpoints
-- typical duality. Venus changes from electrical Aquarius
on January 4 into the emotive/watery sign of Pisces throughout
the remainder of January, bringing a pleasant, softer, dreamy
quality to this intense month as well as infusing the brass
ring of hope.
Blessings for you and yours during this
marvelous millennial shift!
