Lotus Land
by Gandalf
www.realmusic.com

I previously reviewed Sacred River by Gandalf (July '06) and I appreciated that offering: “a beautiful blend of acoustic and synthesized instrumentation.”  I like Lotus Land even more.  The flow and variation and blending of instrumental acoustic and electronic music, is both relaxing and inspiring.  I get the feeling that I am listening to Gandalf play live.  I am lead to remember that I haven't meditated (deliberately) lately and music such as Lotus Land gently proclaims that it is “no big deal”, just let the present moment lead you into the boundless and eternal unfolding lotus, bringing “Waves of Delight” while planting “A Seed Dreaming Inside”, “Where the heart Finds a Home” (song titles).  Gandalf again gives us a masterpiece of new age music; a heart opener.
I recommend Lotus Land for all healing practices, for massage and yoga, and to simply sit by your window and watch the leaves floating from the trees to our precious planet earth.

Love Reigns
by  DIANA ROGERS
 www.SoundsTrue.com

For lovers of kirtan chant and fans of Jai Uttal, this CD is one
for your collection. Perfect for meditation, yoga, and even
vacuuming, I discovered varied ways of utilizing the beauty and power
of Diana Rogers and kirtan chanting. Within each track title is
included information about the dieties and the meaning of the chants
themselves. Joyful and heartfelt devotion raises your being to new
heights and depths.

Diana has sung and performed with Ram Dass and Krishna Dass
throughout the US.

Track 2, "Om Narayani," creates a space in which you merge with
the primordial vibration of the universe. Not only does the music
move you, the text within teaches you to give you a fuller
understanding of what and to whom you are chanting. I am able to
integrate the music more fully into my being with the understanding
of the interplay of dieties and the spirit of devotion.

Love Reigns in Diana Rogers' latest labor of love.

Ocean of Silence: Music For Reiki and Meditation Vol. 3
by Shajam
www.sequoiarecords.com

Shajan works as a Reiki Master, also teaching, and as a musician composes Volume 3 of  Music for Reiki and Meditation, which is deep, soothing, and meditative.
Ocean of Silence naturally is very suitable for Reiki practice.  Meditation and other healing arts will be great enhanced with this high quality electronic music spiraling through space, aiding in the alignment of energy centers to bring about awareness of balance and unity.

I liken this music to Sleep by Chuck Wild (reviewed June '06).  Ocean of Silence
has  few more crescendos of emotion, but serves well to give the listener an opportunity to touch upon and embody the natural state of being.  I highly recommend Shajam's music for any meditative/healing experience, or to simply have a peaceful sleep.   Samples are available at the web site.  Write me if you have feedback about any of my music reviews or experience the music first hand.  Peace

Zen Pause
by Thierry David
www.realmusic.com

Slowly unfolding, ambiantly rhythmic, chill-out music by Thierry David , French new age artist, who is well known for his contributions to the Buddha Bar compilations, gives us Zen Pause.

If you've read this far, you may want to take pause and consider purchasing this music to use as as background listening, for movement/yoga practice, while driving through the country-side, and some of the tracks are great for sitting meditation.

All compositions are by David Thierry.  He plays the piano.  Steve Shehan is on percussion.  It's not clear who is adding the flowing synthesizers, but they blend in beautifully.  Although energetic at times, the music does maintain a mellowness  that aids in encouraging an experience of inner peace.  A superficial listen will stereotype this music, but go deeper and high quality is revealed.  Zen Pause
creates an ambiance that will fill you space and help you travel beyond space to the moment at hand.
You can listen to samples of all the tracks the real music website.
