We may all feel like Alice in Wonderland
over the next two months. Time to face up to the fact that
things are not quite what they seem to be. The world around
us may be topsy-turvy and lead to questions regarding our
sense of balance. What you see is not always what you get.
In truth, the culmination of events from the past year come
to a head with the beginning of 2003. Astrological dynamics
begin to force exposure of secretive acts. Many things come
to light during this time, and it brings a new period of realization
for us all.
Mars and Venus spend time
in Scorpio over this period. This is tricky energy for romantic
involvements. The combination of these planets in Scorpio
brings out the darker aspects of the sign. Emotions are intense
since the watery power of Scorpio is heightened. Honesty and
secrecy are issues when dealing with others. The hidden side
of your new partner comes to light and if both parties have
not been honest in the recent past, things could become unpleasant.
Strong emotions make this
a difficult time to begin new relationships. Proceed with
caution, keeping lines of communication open. These aspects
make it easy to fall into the wrong kind of relationship.
If you've met a new person who sparks your interest be aware,
there is much more below the surface. For relationships built
over the past year or two, this may be a difficult transition
to navigate. If you have built your bond on honesty, you will
come through safely and with increased strength.
Sudden attractions to unusual
people and substance abuse are negative aspects that may be
present in this span of time. Act cautiously and remember
to listen carefully to spirit.
In early January, Venus
moves from Scorpio to Sagittarius. Control issues rear their
heads so take time to see things from other viewpoints. Jealousy
may swing into the midst of your passion. Spend time in creative
endeavors to channel energy in positive ways.
Dramatic arts flourish during
this time so we can expect innovations in performance. Occult
and mystical sciences benefit from this energy and gain recognition
and new students. Astrology and divination arts, dowsing and
psychometry all move to the forefront. This is an excellent
time to explore these fields since more information and opportunities
are available.
Mars stays in Scorpio until
the 18th of January when it moves into Sagittarius. The Scorpio
placement brings intense emotions, energy and feelings of
power. There is little compromise during this time and those
strongly affected refuse to back down or consider other opinions
once their mind is made up. Challenging situations are met
head on with complete disregard of the consequences. Rein
your temper in and relax!
Mars squares Neptune in
December. This aspect leads to self deception and negative
habit patterns. It activates the psychic energies of Neptune
which in turn affect individual psychic abilities. This mystical
energy increases natural psychic talents so be prepared for
an energy boost. On the down side, substance abuse rises with
this phase.
A Venus Neptune Square has
karmic implications during this period. Emotional turmoil
causes issues created over the past year to be pushed to the
surface. Focus the logical mind and approach things slowly.
Judgments and rash decisions go hand in hand with the emotional
current, so don't be overwhelmed.
On a positive note, this
aspect heightens the imagination and creative forces. Focused
properly, dynamic possibilities come forth and problems are
solved in unique ways. Creative visualization is a powerful
tool now.
Jupiter goes retrograde
December 4th, this slows the aggressive energy that has built
over the past months. Investments that seem stable on the
surface are actually risky. It's not the time to gamble excessively
or take risk in the stock market. Real estate, an often solid
investment, weakens. Jupiter in Leo creates excess and this
leads to mixed feelings with holiday spending. Strike a balance
on a personal level and don't exceed your limits.
Issues with the safety of
children demand attention. Expect progress regarding security
within schools.
Spiritual and religious
leaders receive extra attention, a Jupiter Pluto trine inspires
faith and spiritual regeneration. The holidays pull many towards
holy celebrations and the effect will be longer lasting this
year. This is a time to tap into the powers of transformation.
Inner change is a key to moving forward in this phase of subtle
energies and influences.
Saturn is retrograde in
the air sign Gemini. The logical mind is heightened as a tool
for problem solving, mental work and practical discipline.
There is an edge of suspicion that could take control of those
who are not conscious of outside influences. It is easy to
be critical of others and to ignore the emotional aspect of
actions.
Take special care of paranoid
inclinations. It is not necessary to detach from the emotional
and spiritual nature to achieve the benefit of logic. Practical
needs are of great importance now.
Powerhouse Saturn trines
Uranus activating willpower and the logical process. This
aspect relates to universal laws and we see karmic issues
arise. This is linked to the greater destiny of countries,
specific groups of people, and mankind has a whole. Subtle
energies are in play, and as a people we will begin to change
our approach to the challenges facing us. Active energies
are low key, but don't think less of their impact. Diplomacy
and communication benefit from this planetary placement.
Long-term changes are being
set in motion with the actions that occur, and it takes a
careful eye to realize the direction being taken. Those in
power find it difficult to force decisions on the populace
as more people begin to take active roles in the course of
human destiny.
A Saturn Pluto opposition
is also a factor. Again, these are karmic aspects and there
is danger of war and violent actions or reactions. Prayers
for peace and large scale meditations can help avert this
wave of energy.
Uranus and Neptune, still
moving forward in Aquarius, continue to open people to the
ideas of brotherhood and humanitarian ideals. Psychic energies
flow easier and alternative sciences gain ground and attention.
A renewed sense of freedom is forming in the collective consciousness.
This is in reaction to the turmoil in the world currently.
Fear and restriction slowly begin to give way to the idea
of a more peaceful existence.
Holiday celebrations this
year are likely to be more private. Small social gatherings
offer a more secure atmosphere than large public events. There
is still an edgy feeling underlying daily activities. The
recent sniper case in the DC metro has heightened this underlying
tension. While no one is expected to "stop living"
a normal life, attitudes will change by default.
Our period of transformation
continues and we will see evidence of it. In December, with
the sun in Sagittarius, there will be a solar eclipse. Justice
and higher truths are key issues ruled by Sagittarius. Pluto
and Mercury align with the eclipse and bring hidden matters
to light. Antiwar sentiments become prominent. Mysterious
qualities are activated by this eclipse, both on an individual
level and on a larger scale. How would our forefathers feel
about the direction we are headed? Questions come to mind
that change our outlook and reshape our moral and spiritual
approach to the world. Expect unusual weather patterns, especially
in the Middle East. A new discovery in Egypt comes to light
as the eclipse "uncovers" secrets.
If you think you're seeing
white rabbits with pocket watches, maybe you are! Strange
things lie beyond the looking glass, and we have all stepped
through whether we knew it or not. The trick is to maintain
our flow of energy between the creative and the logical long
enough to find our way out and into a world of peace. By raising
our vibrations, clearing our thoughts and focusing on the
power of love and peace, we can come to a new level of consciousness
and understanding.
