About
Us
Thank
you for visiting Innerchangemag.com.
Innerchangemag.com,
a transformative resource for holistic wellbeing,
spirituality, metaphysics, and alternative health,
made its online debut in December 1998 under
the naïve but eager direction and development
of Karen Newton, owner and publisher of Innerchange
magazine at that time.
The
internet was still relatively new and, using
minimal guidance but wanting to establish a
web presence, Karen built the first website
in Microsoft Publisher, which meant that each
webpage was an image – not a searchable,
highlightable, HTML page. Within a year or so,
she learned HTML and upgraded Innerchangemag.com
as an HTML-based website. From then on, all
articles that were published in the magazine,
along with some online-only ones, were published
online, and thus began the growth of a website
rich in content and information.
In
early 2008, after 12 years of publishing Innerchange
magazine and 10 years of maintaining Innerchangemag.com,
Karen experienced an overwhelming case of burnout
and turned over the publishing responsibilities
to someone else. For the next few years, the
magazine and website experienced changes. Producing
and distributing a print publication is no easy
task and requires not only commitment but also,
to some degree, sacrifice as meeting deadlines
can be quite challenging. Today, the print magazine
is no longer available. Karen has reclaimed
the website, with all of its rich content from
2008 and earlier. It continues to be a great
resource that brings together the metaphysical
and holistic communities and is even more dynamic
as there is a synergistic relationship with
her other online endeavor, KiConnections.net,
which she co-founded with Maria Tadd, her original
co-founder of Innerchange magazine in 1995.
