FENG SHUI FUNDAMENTALS with T. Raphael Simons
Positioning Yourself for POWER
How you arrange your workspace will either enhance or weaken your effectiveness at business. The first consideration is how the room looks. The messier and more complicated it is, the more confused, worried and time-wasting you are. When you deliberately put your space in order, you become more efficient and make room for new opportunities to come your way. While the complete use of colors in Feng Shui depends on knowledge of the complex astrological and compass systems, yellow is generally taken to be a mental stimulant. You might consider using it to help stimulate your business. You could paint the walls yellow or keep a vase of bright yellow flowers or even hang a painting of yellow flowers in your office as a money symbol.
Place your money symbol in the best compass direction. If the door of your room faces North, the best place is the East wall. If the door faces Northeast, it is the Northwest wall. If the door faces East, it is the North wall. If the door faces Southeast, it is the Southeast wall. If the door faces South, it is the East wall. If the door faces Southwest, it is the Northeast wall, If the door faces West, it is the West wall. If the door faces Northwest, it is the Northeast wall. You find the door's direction by standing in the doorway, facing out.
Position yourself so that you sit in a commanding position to the door with your desk at the vantage point of the room diagonally opposite the doorway. Don't sit with the window behind you. If you must, a simple remedy is to screen the window either with blinds or plants. If you sit with your power direction to your back and use your power color, you have another advantage. Finding your power direction and color involves simple computations.
Please note, the Chinese year for these calculations begins on February 4. If you were born between January 1 and February 4, use the year prior to your birth. Also note that the calculation is different for males and females.
A male born in 1954 has Southeast and dark green as his power direction and color,
a female born in 1954 has Northeast and white;
a male born in 1955 has East and light green,
a female born in 1955 has South and purple;
a male born in 1956 has Southwest and black,
a female born in 1956 has North and white;
a male born in 1957 has North and white,
a female born in 1957 has Southwest and black;
a male born in 1958 has South and purple,
a female born in 1958 has East and light green;
a male born in 1959 has Northeast and white,
a female born in 1959 has Southeast and dark green;
a male born in 1960 has West and red,
a female born in 1960 has Northeast and white;
both males and females born in 1961 have Northwest and white;
a male born in 1962 has Northeast and white,
a female born in 1962 has West and red.
If you were born before or after these 9 years, simply add or subtract 9 or multiples of 9 to find your power direction and color. For example, if you were born in 1980, subtracting 18 from 1980 gives you 1962. Wear something and/or decorate your office with your power color.
