Re-assess the direction your life is taking

HIGHLIGHTS:
Two full moons in June:
June 1 in Sagittarius
June 30 in Capricorn

July’s full moon is in Aquarius on the 30th

Mercury is retrograde June 15 through July 9

“Yes there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run, there’s still time to change the road you’re on.”

Yes indeed, the above is a quote from rock band Led Zeppelin. It’s a perfect phrase to reflect on in the months of June and July when we are each presented with the opportunity and the energy to change our current course. Changing direction can be a difficult and trying task, so take advantage of this time while the universe is on your side and re-assess the direction your life is taking. If the current course doesn’t suit you, now is the time to change the road you’re on.

The Direct Influence
A Mercury retrograde period begins on the 15th of June and continues until the 9th of July. Watch for snafus in communication and avoid signing legal documents and agreements until it’s over. Mercury is the Murphy of the stars, and his law rules when you least expect it. Why take the chance? Plan now and sidestep any long-term complications.

Mars, the planet of dynamic action, dominates the summer sky this year. The red planet spends most of June in Aries, a sign it rules. This placement calls us to action on a very physical level. Mars energy calls you to get out and enjoy the summer sun. Sports and outdoor activities take the forefront. Follow the urge and skip a day in the cubical if you can. Mars doesn’t like to be bottled up, and if you try to ignore the call it can quickly turn to anger. This is the time to “rearrange” your life. Kick the dust away from the portions of your personality that you’ve let sit too long. Exactly why aren’t you following your dreams? Mars doesn’t take excuses and neither should you. Be careful your feelings at this time don’t convert to anger at others or yourself. The important thing now is action, movement and improvement. Mars enters Taurus on the 25th of June, and you’ll find that critical decisions present themselves during this period.

Watch your finances during the month of June. Retrograde Jupiter and Mercury together often cause unexpected expenses to arise. Pinch pennies and take your vacation time after mid-July, if possible. Beware of real estate investment opportunities that sound too good to be true – they are.

Saturn is still moving through Leo, and it won’t cut you lions any slack this summer. Someone acting overly dramatic in your life? It’s probably this Leo/Saturn influence. Best course of action is to avoid the emotional entanglement as much as possible and allow the storm to pass.

Of course, we can’t ignore the big “R” – Romance, everyone’s favorite subject. Venus passes through Cancer, Leo and Virgo over the months of June and July. Social butterflies get your wings out. This is a busy time for meeting new friends and making new connections. Romantic possibilities appear on every horizon, but be honest with yourself. What do you really want, the pretty face in the crowd or the genuine soul connection? Either way, the potential has arrived.

As for the outer planets, Pluto is in the late degrees of Sagittarius, Neptune is retrograde in Aquarius, and Uranus will turn retrograde in Pisces on the 23rd of June.
So what does all of that mean on a personal level? Odd and eccentric people may be showing up in your life now. Psychic information is not as clear so listen carefully to your own intuition. Personal development may seem to be more of a challenge. The best advice is: Meditate, Meditate, Meditate.

The Global Outlook
Saturn in late degrees of Leo will continue to cause political issues to be at the forefront of media attention. The coming election becomes even more of a confused muddle when Mercury’s June/July retrograde gets added to the medial hype. Don’t expect much clear leadership to be demonstrated at this time.

Mars in Aries will cause the Middle East to experience another violent period. Be aware of terrorist activity on a larger scale as the summer unfolds. Travel abroad is not advisable, especially for the month of June. Again, Mercury’s retrograde makes this a much better time to focus on personal development including family and community.
Jupiter is still moving retrograde in Sagittarius. This placement has caused a slow real estate market and a sluggish economy over the past several months. Although there is no dramatic change over these summer months, the economy will improve slightly due to increased travel. Look for real estate to continue on a downward trend around most of the country.

Tornado season began early this year and will continue longer than usual. Expect a year of strong summer storms along both the Eastern and Gulf coasts.
